The sans typography chosen is very simplistic and for that
reason seems to have greater importance. All the text is upper case, which
commands the viewers’ attention and implies an inflated significance. The
monotone white text contrast sharply with the vibrant images used as a
background.
The poster has a strong sense of symmetry created by the
centralised text and fanned out lines. The picture is very aesthetically
pleasing and plays on the natural beauty of space by enhancing the glow from
the stars and the ombre sky. The colours are very rich metallic and therefore
connote high quality, as gold and bronze are both winning medal colours.
The box around the “limited edition…” text highlights the
U.S.P’s worth to the viewer even though the text is the same size as the main
body of text. The name of the album is obviously the most important bit of
information on the poster as it is roughly centralised and the larges piece of
text encouraging viewers to remember it more. The hierarchy of importance of
the information is shown through font size; the larger the text the more
eye-catching and easy to read it is, conveying the information to the viewers
more affectively.
