Magazine pull out analysis: The Verve 'Forth'

Again a singular image is used as the background for this poster conveying that a simplistic style is conventional for album advertisement poster designs. This poster also once again has a strong sense of symmetry but the text is not as evenly spaced vertically, instead the text is grouped into two juxtaposing sections.
The first section shows the band name as the most important element of information with regards to font size. This is typical of music advertisements as the bands name often has a unique font specific to the band, which viewers recognise and therefore is more eye-catching. The rest of the text is a serif typeface, which has formal/ regal connotations generating an overstated sense of prominence.
This theme is continued in the style of image through the strong parallels to renaissance paintings evoked by the yellowy hues and watercolour style. Much like the Maximo Park advertisement the colour scheme has an omber feel that enables the band name and album name contrast with the body of text as it is the opposite tone to white.
Quotes from accredited music reviewers are shown on the advertisement to persuade viewers to buy the album by indorsing the album making it seem a to have a guaranteed quality.
